I love it when Science disguises itself with Celebrity! Gawker:
Scientists today have discovered a planet in a nearby solar system that is twice the size of planet Earth, made almost entirely out of diamond, and not at all useful to you or me.
Because of its proximity to Earth (40 lightyears, or 230 trillion miles), scientists have been able to study its chemical makeup and surface more closely than they have any other planet of this kind. Cool, right? Would be cooler if we could actually do something with it. The planet, they say, is chemically much different than Earth and is really, really hot—like 3,900 degrees Fahrenheit—rendering it largely untouchable by humans and, therefore, not a viable solution for blood diamonds. (Sorry, Africa).
How long until Future Justin Theroux tries to apprehend this planet for Future Jennifer Aniston's engagement ring anyway? Given that humans will never stop wanting to wear obnoxious jewelry and we account for the invention of both warp speed and time travel, we're still looking at roughly 30 years. Too long, thank you.
The scientists have decided to name this diamond planet "55 Cancri e," which is a stupid fucking name for a planet made almost entirely out of diamonds. Off the top of my head, here are three names that are definitely better than "55 Cancri e": "Orion's Engagement Ring," "That Diamond Planet," or "Giant Shiny Thing in the Sky." (The last one's my favorite! That, or something simple, like "Don.")
Head's up! Or not.. No worries, if you're in North America.. Watch Out! Head fake/Just kiddin'.. BAM!
So remember to keep looking up while hiding underneath something sturdy.. Real sturdy..
Meanwhile, I have a really hard time believing authorities have no way of knowing where the satellite will land, but they do know that it won't be North America.. The best mathematicians and scientists with all their advanced theorems and video and tracking technology can't tell us the trajectory of one satellite and its possible debris trails? Maybe it is as simple as they say, and I'm the one overestimating the intellectual abilities of Earth's Scientific Elite. That must be it. I mean, seriously; Not even an idea of potential landfalls?
Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean I can't see that maybe I'm too paranoid.. Or not. The jury is still out..
Huge Defunct Satellite to Plunge to Earth Soon, NASA Says From Space.com. Excerpts:
Heads up! That's the word from NASA today (Sept. 7) given the impending re-entry of a 6.5-ton satellite through Earth's atmosphere.
The huge Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite (UARS) is expected to re-enter Earth's atmosphere in an uncontrolled fall in late September or early October. Much of the spacecraft is expected to burn up during re-entry, but some pieces are expected to make it intact to the ground, NASA officials said.
The U.S. space agency will be taking measures to inform the public about the pieces of the spacecraft that are expected to survive re-entry.
Well, thanks for that, NASA. I'm gonna go buy a helmet.

Situated at the landing site of the Apollo 14 Moon Expedition there seems to be something a little out of the ordinary happening. Is this an image of an underground base that has been built by NASA?
And:
It seems there is something to hide on the Moon as censoring is quite abundant on Google Earth (Moon Viewer). Image Two is just one example of blatant censoring or covering up of objects and areas of the Moon. Why is this censoring happening and what is there on the Moon that needs to be hidden from our eyes?
Couple discoveries on the moon with "The oldest Metropolis on Earth was built by the Anunnaki!"
and you've got yourself a heady mix of reality tweaking concepts..
Something amazing has been discovered in an area of South Africa, about 150 miles inland, west of the port of Maputo. It is the remains of a huge metropolis that measures, in conservative estimates, about 1500 square miles. It's part of an even larger community that is about 10,000 square miles and appears to have been constructed -- are you ready -- from 160,000 to 200,000 BCE!
"When Johan first introduced me to the ancient stone ruins of southern Africa, I had no idea of the incredible discoveries we would make in the year or two that followed. The photographs, artifacts and evidence we have accumulated points unquestionably to a lost and never-before-seen civilization that predates all others -- not by just a few hundred years, or a few thousand years... but many thousands of years. These discoveries are so staggering that they will not be easily digested by the mainstream historical and archaeological fraternity, as we have already experienced. It will require a complete paradigm shift in how we view our human history. " - Tellinger
To reiterate: Newly discovered information from all points of the spectrum continues to change our perception of what is our history here on earth, and where our future might lead. With more sophisticated technological developments, we are able to have a larger, clearer view of our surroundings, micro to macro. And A Lot of this new information will invalidate some deeply held truisms as a bigger vision of Who and What We Are emerges. A great many people will have a difficult time adapting to these events. How we as a society handle these upcoming shockwaves (in whatever form in which they arrive..)will determine whether we: are destroyed, survive, prosper during crisis, or continue towards an unknown apex.
The future stands still, unwritten, as we all continue waiting for the Universe's Great Exhale to commence. "Listen; can you feel it? It's getting closer.."
From NASA Science News Excerpts:
Einstein was right again. There is a space-time vortex around Earth, and its shape precisely matches the predictions of Einstein's theory of gravity.
Researchers confirmed these points at a press conference today at NASA headquarters where they announced the long-awaited results of Gravity Probe B (GP-B).
"The space-time around Earth appears to be distorted just as general relativity predicts," says Stanford University physicist Francis Everitt, principal investigator of the Gravity Probe B mission.
..
Time and space, according to Einstein's theories of relativity, are woven together, forming a four-dimensional fabric called "space-time." The mass of Earth dimples this fabric, much like a heavy person sitting in the middle of a trampoline. Gravity, says Einstein, is simply the motion of objects following the curvaceous lines of the dimple.
..
The idea behind the experiment is simple:
Put a spinning gyroscope into orbit around the Earth, with the spin axis pointed toward some distant star as a fixed reference point. Free from external forces, the gyroscope's axis should continue pointing at the star--forever. But if space is twisted, the direction of the gyroscope's axis should drift over time. By noting this change in direction relative to the star, the twists of space-time could be measured.
The only thing you really need to know..
For readers who are not experts in relativity: Geodetic precession is the amount of wobble caused by the static mass of the Earth (the dimple in spacetime) and the frame dragging effect is the amount of wobble caused by the spin of the Earth (the twist in spacetime). Both values are in precise accord with Einstein's predictions.
..
The results of Gravity Probe B give physicists renewed confidence that the strange predictions of Einstein's theory are indeed correct, and that these predictions may be applied elsewhere. The type of spacetime vortex that exists around Earth is duplicated and magnified elsewhere in the cosmos--around massive neutron stars, black holes, and active galactic nuclei.
I have so many questions, but I really don't know the language of physics well enough to ask them. But I'm still excited, though..
From The Two-Way
A large piece of foam had fallen away from an external fuel tank after Thursday's launch, which appeared to then hit the shuttle's thermal tiles.
But the incident occurred four minutes into the flight — a time, NASA analysts say, that presents far less danger than in the first moments after launch. The foam reportedly did no damage to the tiles.
Good luck, Astronauts. Come home safely.
Meanwhile: Short term conspiracy effect: Ed Dames' credibility got a big shot in the arm /or amazingly lucky break, didn't it?
Tyche, Giant Hidden Planet, May Exist In Our Solar System From the Independent. Excerpts:If you grew up thinking there were nine planets and were shocked when Pluto was demoted five years ago, get ready for another surprise. There may be nine after all, and Jupiter may not be the largest.
The hunt is on for a gas giant up to four times the mass of Jupiter thought to be lurking in the outer Oort Cloud, the most remote region of the solar system. The orbit of Tyche (pronounced ty-kee), would be 15,000 times farther from the Sun than the Earth's, and 375 times farther than Pluto's, which is why it hasn't been seen so far. But scientists now believe the proof of its existence has already been gathered by a Nasa space telescope, Wise, and is just waiting to be analysed. Our knowledge of not only deep space, but our "galactic neighborhood" continues to grow at an astounding rate.
What's that behind the ISS? The weirdness begins at :50 seconds, subsides, picks up again at 12:20, but the main event starts after 22:35. You tell me what that is..I found the video at above top secret. So that's one, and then we have some related sightings, which are, evidently, direct messages from God for believers in the two most spiritual places on the planet, Jerusalem and Salt Lake City. Big stink about the whole thing thread here, and some mainstream coverage here.Couple that with the freaktastic and oh-so-biblical ghost horse of the apocalypse in Tahrihr Square, and you've got yourself a busy paranormal news week! Things is gettin' strange, y'all..
From e! Science News Excerpts:A tenuous atmosphere infused with oxygen and carbon-dioxide has been discovered at Saturn's moon Rhea by the Cassini-Huygens mission, the first time a spacecraft has captured direct evidence of an oxygen atmosphere at a world other than Earth. The NASA-led international mission made the discovery using combined data from Cassini's instruments, which includes a sensor designed and built at UCL's (University College London) Mullard Space Science Laboratory.Published today in Science Express, results from the mission reveal that the atmosphere of Rhea, Saturn's second largest moon at 1500 km wide, is extremely thin and is sustained by high energy particles bombarding its icy surface and kicking up atoms, molecules and ions into the atmosphere. The density of oxygen is probably about 5 trillion times less dense than in Earth's atmosphere. However, the formation of oxygen and carbon dioxide could possibly drive complex chemistry on the surfaces of many icy bodies in the universe."The new results suggest that active, complex chemistry involving oxygen may be quite common throughout the solar system and even our universe," said Dr Ben Teolis, a Cassini team scientist based at Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio and lead author. "Such chemistry could be a pre-requisite for life. All evidence from Cassini indicates Rhea is too cold and devoid of the liquid water necessary for life as we know it."All evidence.. For now..
