Clif's latest Shape of Things to Come forecast is tentatively scheduled for mid to late October. This is just the first taste.Half Past Human:
All humans (and any other sentient beings here on Terra) should take heed of the state of the sun on a daily basis as their personal actions are affected by solar activity. Many thinkers, past and present, have noted that solar activity is mirrored here on earth. When the sun is roiling, as it is now, terrestrial humanity also roils, as it does now. The 'looniness' that can be smeared across large amounts of humanity by solar activity is known by the-powers-that-be, and they will use it for their nasty goals, as they are now. When the 'solar-looniness' is upon humanity, as it is now, the energetic forces, electrical and other, from the sun, put pressure on individual human minds, such that large scale group behavior is changed. As those humans who are suffering the 'solar-looniness' are un-aware of their plight, they react as though their emotional responses (to perceived reality) are both genuine, and internally generated.Neither is true, but don't try telling them that, or you are likely going to experience the 'solar-looniness' erupting in a human near you. It seems unlikely that the mass of humans so affected will be able to awaken to the solar-looniness distortions of their behavior, thus the up-coming period promises to be both noisy and dangerous. Therefore, those humans who are awakening to the unfolding nature of reality, will as the data describes, [separate themselves (from the) herd instinct], becoming [explorers (of the manifesting new earth/new cycle)]. We note that the definition (more or less) of 'sanity', is to be 'well adjusted to the world around you'.If said world is itself not well adjusted, disruptive, deceitful, dangerous, duplicitous, and generally in a terrible state, then to be 'sane' is of no rational benefit. Why be well-adjusted to an irrational and degrading situation?Rather the more appropriate response is to choose insanity, and thus not be well adjusted to the global madness. The insane, facing a world boiling with solar-looniness, will navigate, without participating, as the omni-humanity seas react to the solar storms. To all the 'insane', watching the asylum crumble before your eyes, be aware that 'walking time' is coming. Bare feet ground best. The good view is from the isolated hills. Be seeing you there. Post Scriptum: please re-read the little article on weather. We are there now. September 20, 2012
Extent of surface melt over Greenland’s ice sheet on July 8 (left) andJuly 12 (right).Measurements from three satellites showed that on July 8, about 40 percent of the ice sheet had undergone thawing at or near the surface. In just a few days, themelting had dramatically accelerated and an estimated 97 percent of the ice sheet surface had thawed by July 12. In the image, the areas classified as “probable melt” (light pink) correspond to those sites where at least one satellite detected surface melting. The areas classified as “melt” (dark pink) correspond to sites where two or three satellites detected surface melting. The satellites are measuring different physical properties at different scales and are passing over Greenland at different times. As a whole, they provide a picture of an extreme melt event about which scientists are very confident. Credit: Nicolo E. DiGirolamo, SSAI/NASA GSFC, and Jesse Allen, NASA Earth Observatory For several days this month, Greenland's surface ice cover melted over a larger area than at any time in more than 30 years of satellite observations. Nearly the entire ice cover of Greenland, from its thin, low-lying coastal edges to its two-mile-thick center, experienced some degree of melting at its surface, according to measurements from three independent satellites analyzed by NASA and university scientists. On average in the summer, about half of the surface of Greenland's ice sheet naturally melts. At high elevations, most of that melt water quickly refreezes in place. Near the coast, some of the melt water is retained by the ice sheet and the rest is lost to the ocean. But this year the extent of ice melting at or near the surface jumped dramatically.According to satellite data, an estimated 97 percent of the ice sheet surface thawed at some point in mid-July. Researchers have not yet determined whether this extensive melt event will affect the overall volume of ice loss this summer and contribute to sea level rise. .. Nghiem consulted with Dorothy Hall at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md. Hall studies the surface temperature of Greenland using the Moderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA's Terra and Aqua satellites. She confirmed that MODIS showed unusually high temperatures and that melt was extensive over the ice sheet surface. Thomas Mote, a climatologist at the University of Georgia, Athens, Ga; and Marco Tedesco of City University of New York also confirmed the melt seen by Oceansat-2 and MODIS with passive-microwave satellite data from the Special Sensor Microwave Imager/Sounder on a U.S. Air Force meteorological satellite. The melting spread quickly.Melt maps derived from the three satellites showed that on July 8, about 40 percent of the ice sheet's surface had melted. By July 12, 97 percent had melted. This extreme melt event coincided with an unusually strong ridge of warm air, or a heat dome, over Greenland. The ridge was one of a series that has dominated Greenland's weather since the end of May. "Each successive ridge has been stronger than the previous one,"said Mote. This latest heat dome started to move over Greenland on July 8, and then parked itself over the ice sheet about three days later. By July 16, it had begun to dissipate.
Even the area around Summit Station in central Greenland, which at 2 miles above sea level is near the highest point of the ice sheet, showed signs of melting.Such pronounced melting at Summit and across the ice sheet has not occurred since 1889, according to ice cores analyzed by Kaitlin Keegan at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H. A National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration weather station at Summit confirmed air temperatures hovered above or within a degree of freezing for several hours July 11-12.
Whatever this is, it is arriving. Two more months of summer here in the Northern Hemisphere. Two more months of relentless, ongoing events that you are most likely already experiencing.
Here, near/in the "Breadbasket of America," almost exactly under the High Pressure System-that-will-never-end, we wait. The temperatures consistently hover around 100. The wind feels oven-heated. Wild trees and vegetation are browning and dying. Everything looks and feels baked or beat down. I'm not sure the region can take much more of this punishment.
Locally, there is a chance of showers both Thursday and Friday. The long-term heat and absence of rain, though, is not forecast to subside. There is no relief in sight. Dire ticks toward Critical. We need respite, but the heat continues to punish, furious at our gleeful ignorance and obstinate lack of forethought.
A grim report prepared by the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) for President Putin on the catastrophic flooding in the Krasnodar region that has killed at least 144 people warns that our world is fast approaching what is termed as a “Chizhevsky Super Event” due to the rapidly growing number of sunspots that continue to hurl M and X Class Flares towards Earth causing continued and massive global weather chaos. A “Chizhevsky Super Event” is named after famed Russian scientist Alexander Chizhevsky (1897-1964) who founded “heliobiology” (study of the sun’s effect on biology) and “aero-ionization” (study of effect of ionization of air on biological entities). Chizhevsky was also was noted for his work in “cosmo-biology, biological rhythms and hematology.” Chizhevsky is most notable for his use of historical research (historiometry) techniques to link the 11 year solar cycle, Earth’s climate and the mass activity of peoples, research that was confirmed by Western scientists earlier this decade in two important studies titled Amplifying the Pacific Climate System Response to a Small 11-Year Solar Cycle Forcing and Synchronized Northern Hemisphere climate change and solar magnetic cycles during the Maunder Minimum. Important to note, this report says, are the “four components” of Chizhevsky’s eleven year cycle and their approximate lengths: 1) a three year period of minimum activity characterized by passivity and autocratic rule; 2) a two year period during which masses begin to organize under new leaders and one theme; 3) a three year period of maximum excitability, revolution and war; 4) a three year period of gradual decrease in excitability until the masses are apathetic. Of these “four components”, this report continues, our world has now entered into the Third Period: A three year period of maximum excitability, revolution and war. According to Chizhevsky’s research, RAS scientists state in this report, the defining characteristics to be looked for when our world enters into a Third Period “Super Event” timeline is a rapid overturning of existing weather phenomena combined with an equally sudden major changing of the global social-political power structures all occurring during a period of Solar Maximum. Interesting to note about the current Solar Maximum we are in was the 23 March 2009 scientific article titled Space Storm Alert: 90 Seconds From Catastrophe published by New Scientist that eerily describes somewhat exactly what is now occurring in the United States following their East Coast region being struck by what is being called a “derecho” storm that, in part, says: “It is midnight on 22 September 2012 and the skies above Manhattan are filled with a flickering curtain of colourful light. Few New Yorkers have seen the aurora this far south but their fascination is short-lived. Within a few seconds, electric bulbs dim and flicker, then become unusually bright for a fleeting moment. Then all the lights in the state go out. Within 90 seconds, the entire eastern half of the US is without power.” According to NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center web site, a derecho (pronounced “deh-REY-cho”) is a widespread, long-lived wind storm that is associated with a band of rapidly moving showers or thunderstorms. Chizhevsky’s research, however, states thatderecho storms are but a precursor to the much more damaging events associated with a “Super Event”,a finding made even more terrifying with the 2008 news that NASA’s five THEMIS spacecraft had discovered a breach in Earth’s magnetic field ten times larger than anything previously thought to exist. Solar wind can flow in through the opening to “load up” the magnetosphere for powerful geomagnetic storms. RAS scientists in this report blame this “loading up” of the magnetosphere caused by solar flares for causing not only the catastrophic Russian floods, but also our present global weather chaos, to include: 1.) The unrelenting heat wave hitting the United States that has caused at least 30 deaths, hundreds of forest fires and billions in crop damage. 2.) The torrential floods and rain continuing to batter the United Kingdom. 3.) The catastrophic floods that have hit India leaving nearly 100 dead and millions homeless. 4.) The historic and severe drought that has hit northern and central Mexico. 5.) The historic drought that has ravaged Brazil’s northeast. Most important to note about a “Chizhevsky Super Event”, this report concludes, is that whileno one is able to predict exactly what the “main event” may be, the historic record leaves no doubt whatsoever that it is coming with terrifying suddenness and will most certainly upend the entire world as we know it. Of particular concern for this particular “Chizhevsky Super Event”, say RAS scientists in this report, would be the sudden outbreak of global war combined with an equally catastrophic global flu outbreak such as that which happened last century during the Solar Maximum decade of 1910-1918 that saw the outbreak of World War I and the Spanish Flu Pandemic that combined killed estimated 500 million people.
Not known to but a few researchers was that in 2001 Canadian researchers warned that influenza epidemics are more likely to sweep the globe when the sun develops spots and sends its excess energy barreling toward Earth such as it is doing now. “Epidemics are four times as likely during solar maxima,” said Ken Tapping, a solar physicist with the National Research Council, pointing to the striking correlation between flu pandemics and the peaks of the 11-year sunspot cycle, also known as the solar maximum. He and two colleagues have compared flu and solar records dating back to 1729 and found a statistically significant connection. There were flu epidemics, some of them fatal to millions of people, in 1729, 1830, 1918, 1957, 1968 and 1977, years when solar activity and flares bombarded the Earth with extra radiation and cosmic rays. The effects of solar cycles on influenza epidemics is especially important to note as along with the current global weather chaos the highly deadly Bird Flu virus has once again emerged in Mexico, China and Indonesia.
To me, this report feels authentic. It would also explain A Lot. It would also be unimaginably tragic. It helps nothing that we're also in a webbot window, also..
Look at it this way, if the Super Event fails to transpire, you still have Fukushima or the Presidential elections to look forward to!
Youngblood, it's like this: While there have been weather extremes throughout history, we are now in a period of increasing, escalating, extreme weather events and those events are occurring globally. Don't let people tell you this is normal. It is not. This is the beginning of some major.. adjustments. You will need to hang on. Reuters, via The Extinction Protocol:
July 3, 2012 – CHICAGO-More than 2,000 temperature records have been matched or broken in the past week as a brutal heat wave baked much of the United States, and June saw more than 3,200 records topped, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said Monday. From June 25 to July 1, some 2,171 record temperatures were either broken or matched, the NOAA said. For the 30 days of June, that number rose to 3,215. Accuweather meteorologist Alex Sosnowski said the number of records broken was very unusual. He said that while some aspects of the heat wave are unknown, much of it is because of a lack of snow cover during the late winter on America’s plains. Instead of the sun’s heat melting snow, it instead heated the ground, which in turn warmed the air. The increase in temperature even made crops grow ahead of schedule until now; Sosnowski said the lack of rainfall has stunted crops’ growth. Sosnowski added that while some areas are not unusually warm, namely New England and the Northwest, the center of the country will experience high temperatures for the next several weeks, possibly into August. Five states had more than 100 record temperatures broken in June. Texas had 237 records broken, followed by Colorado (226), Kansas (164), Missouri (126), and Arkansas (115). The NOAA data comes as a relentless heat grips much of the eastern United States for a fourth straight day. About 2.1 million homes and businesses remained without power on Monday after violent storms and soaring temperatures killed at least 18 people since Friday, many of them when trees fell on their cars or houses.
At least we know this: It kayn't be global warmun 'kuz it's codde owtsaahhd!
Hey; HEY: SOMETHING is happening. Shut the fuck up about what you call it, and start DEALING WITH IT.
June 23, 2012 – GULF OF MEXICO-It’s quite likely that the fourth tropical cyclone of the North Atlantic Hurricane Season is brewing in the southern Gulf of Mexico, more specifically, in the Yucatan Channel. The Yucatan Channel lies between Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula and western Cuba. Tropical depressions seem to have a habit of forming on weekends, and this low appears to be following that habit. On Friday, June 22 at 0900 UTC (5 a.m. EDT), System 96L was located near 22.5 North and 89.5 West, near the north coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. The GOES-13 satellite continually monitors the eastern U.S. and provides updated visible and infrared imagery. An image from June 22 at 1601 UTC (12:01 p.m. EDT) shows a large low pressure area near the Yucatan’s northern coast with disorganized showers and thunderstorms. In the image, some of the thunderstorms near the center of the low appear to be higher than the surrounding clouds, which indicates they are higher and stronger. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) noted that atmospheric pressure on the surface continues to fall, indicating that the low pressure area is intensifying. Forecasters at NHC give System 96L a 70 percent chance of becoming the fourth tropical depression of the Atlantic Hurricane season, sometime over the weekend. Meanwhile, System 96L is expected to move slowly northward into the Gulf of Mexico this weekend (June 23-24). The NHC notes “Interests along the entire United States Gulf Coast should monitor the progress of this disturbance through the weekend. Heavy rains and localized flooding are possible across the Yucatan peninsula, western Cuba, and southern Florida through Saturday.”
The snow into Thursday could end up being one of Seattle’s biggest snowstorms on record. The storm and its heavy snowfall have the potential to close passes in the Cascades, clog streets at sea level with tons of snow and slush and force flight delays and cancellations. .. The combination of heavy, wet snow with gusty winds in some areas will down trees, taking power lines with them. .. The heaviest rate of snow will hit Seattle Wednesday, when the snow could come down at an inch-per-hour pace for a time.
Note descriptors "heavy," "wet," not "powder," "dry." Don't let the projected amounts fool you; This could be a big, big storm. Prep time's done; it's almost here.

The scope ofthis disaster will become more clear in the coming days. All the local real time coverage alluded to the fact no one saw the tornado coming, as it was wrapped in rain. It hit Sunday at 6 p.m.. No one was expecting it. I've worked in radio, through the years, over seven years, and have seen, on radar, some monster storms. This one was, by far, notthe biggest or worst looking I've ever seen. This tornado was all just a gigantic, unexpected disaster. And the destruction is horrible.
Mike Bettesof the Weather Channel was visibly affected by the tornado's wake. Bettes' team was following this storm and came upon the damage left(No audio for this video..)after it had passed. His behavior upon arrival, looking for survivors before reporting from the scene, was exemplary. Thank you Mike Bettes for behaving like a decent human being when confronted with crisis. Your good hearted response was touching.
The bi-polar weather is a manifestation of an amped up jet stream, fueled by this spring’s moderate La Nina. Weather Nation meteorologist Paul Douglas told Discovery Magazine that jet stream winds are as strong as he can remember during April.
The jet, relentlessly surging south through the Midwest, has set up a volatile transition zone east of the Great Plains extending across the mid- South and Tennessee Valleys, occasionally reaching the Southeast. In this transition zone, where cold, dry air has persistently done battle with warm, moist air, seldom a day goes by without explosive, rotating thunderstorm development.
As discussed Tuesday, the U.S. is on pace for its most active tornado season on record, ahead of 2008. And next week, AccuWeather’s Henry Margusity predicts “an insane outbreak of severe weather”.
“Given the pattern next week, I can see 100-200 tornadoes over a four-day period starting Monday,” Margusity wrote.
The St. Louis area’s most powerful tornado in 44 years rips into an airport and through a densely populated suburban area, destroying up to 100 homes, shattering hundreds of panes of glass at the main terminal and blowing a shuttle bus on top of a roof. Yet no one is killed, or even seriously hurt, and the airport reopens less than 24 hours later. How?(Their short answer? Jesus.) .. The tornado peaked at an EF-4 level, second-highest on the Enhanced Fujita scale, packing winds of up to 200 mph, National Weather Service meteorologist Wes Browning said. It was the most powerful twister in metropolitan St. Louis since 1967 — and eerily, it followed a path similar to that of the earlier tornado. .. Entire subdivisions were destroyed. Cars were tossed about like toys, roofs tossed hundreds of yards and 100-year-old trees sucked out by the roots. Gov. Jay Nixon said 750 St. Louis-area homes were damaged, with up to 100 of them uninhabitable. The damage clearly will cost millions of dollars to repair, but a more precise estimate was unavailable Sunday.
With nearly a week left in April, we've already received more than double the normal amount of rainfall for the month -- and more is in the forecast.
As of 7 a.m. Sunday, a Center Street rain gauge had recorded 10.02 inches of rain this month. That included 5.78 inches in just the previous five days, and 4.06 inches in 48 hours.
On average, the entire month of April brings 4.52 inches of rain here, based on 30 years of weather observations reported by official observer Cardinal Farms just south of Henderson.
At the moment and for the moment, the rain has stopped. It will resume shortly, and the worst, according to forecasts, is yet to come tomorrow. The system's severity is notable, but the real soul crushing aspect (so far) is monotony, the dull repetition of an unwanted guest who continues to return, who refuses to leave, long after its necessity or usefulness has..
