Soon
"Out of the island, into the highway; past the places where you might have turned…"
-Vertical Horizon, "Everything you want."
A major part of growing up is learning to accept the fact that when something is gone, it’s gone. Job, old love, period of time, etc.
It’s over. Now move on.
The other part of the equation is learning to accept and embrace the circumstances and blessings of your present situation. Here you can stay. Because, after all, this is where you are. And this is where you belong.
I guess now I belong in Branson – again.

When I wrote this in 1995, my life was very different than now; less stable, less sure, less faith in the patterns of the universe. My confusion made life less than it could have been. But no, not really, as that period, easily the worst of my life, is the reason I am what I've become today. Devastating circumstances can strengthen as well as destroy. Don't forget that.
But these things take time. They take introspection. They take work. But mostly, they take patience; with others, with yourself. If you're in the middle of your own devastating circumstance, you might not believe things will ever get better. But believe me, they can. If you try.. So please try.
Be strong. We need you.
Dear Abby: If my extremely thin adult daughter doesn't want to eat much at
Thanksgiving, is it okay to thrust a funnel in her mouth and jam the entire
meal down her throat? [Asinine]
